Cornell Collegetown Bagels



Located at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. This Collegetown Bagel-ry is located at the heart of Cornell mainstream area. It sits at the corner of a street right next to a bridge and some woods. As you walk in, the workers are all so kind and great you with a "good morning" or "good afternoon." This place is a definite place to grab a coffee and a bagel with whatever you desire as its topping, right before you head to class. The menu, so cute. They hand-write in colored chalk all the items they have from, bagels to sandwiches, to coffee beverages, to smoothies. They also add all the ingredients and a fun description to each item. It takes up about four chalkboards; it's huge! It just gives an overall comfortable, and fun vibe to the cafe. Outside, were set up tables and chairs for the customer to sit at. I wouldn't advise sitting on the chairs if it rained the previous night, by the way. But aside from me speaking about the atmosphere, let's talk about the food. Honestly speaking, as a food critic, the coffee was alright. Not something I would go out of my way just to get some of their coffee, but more like coffee I would buy if I only had ten minutes to grab on my way to class. I got the Bagel with Nutella. Yeah I liked it. I mean, you get what you asked for: a honey wheat bagel with Nutella. Nothing so out there or under the gourmet category. For those of you who don't know Nutella.. Get to know it. Nutella is a creamy hazelnut spread that nicely compliments breads, bagels, crepes, etc. So the bagel with Nutella didn't shock me at all, I got what I wanted, and that was nice. Coffee: three out of five stars (sorry, didn't really satisfy me). Bagel: five out of five; thanks for not throwing and surprise curveballs. Visited on 8/11/2010.

Broken Obelisk

Thank goodness for having taken AP Art History in high school.

Here is one of six of Barnett Newman's Broken Obelisk monuments. This particular one is installed in the Red Square in University of Washington- Seattle campus. It's a pyramid and an obelisk, making an "X" intersection between the tips. It's sort of a juxtaposition; two of Egypt's main attractions united at the tip, yet an equilibrium is reached when the two meet.

Simple Bronze/Copper, Silver, and Black Nails.

Here's a simple nail look I did for the during July.
This took honestly an hour BUT only because of the drying process (and my usual sidetrackdness).
I used:
-Sally Hansen's Advanced Hard as Nails With Nylon + Retinol
-Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in 4032-77 Antique Bronze
-Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtremewear Nail Color in 4860-13 Celeb City
-Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtremewear Nail Color in 4860-28 Black Out
-Cina Top Coat.

 Base coat (easy), wait for that to dry. Do a stripe of bronze (quick), dry. Fill in the top nail with black (mistake-free), dry. Silver stripe (easy if you're well-practiced), dry. Then top coat. Really really easy and doesn't look terrible! Not only would it look classy, it would look like it was profesionally done. Plus the great thing about this style is that your nails can grow out and you wouldn't be able to see the harsh polish line from the cuticle to the polish because of the clear coats. Nails that last long, yes!

TianJin Treats

My first actual entry will be dedicated to... Some delectable TianJin goodies! Now, my parents and sibling all grew up in TianJin; I, on the other hand, am an Asian-American. As I do go to TianJin to visit relatives and such, its tasty traditional tapas are the things I look forward to the most!



Dou Fu Nao/豆腐脑
Direct translation: bean curd brain. Not so much appetizing eh? This silkened tofu soup definitely beats its translation. With mushrooms, chilis, vinegar, and more, the texture of the tofu slips onto the tastebuds leaving an elated appetite.
Typically, in TianJin, we would eat this for breakfast. You would be able to find this in any street vendor in the mornings. I do not see DouFuNao quite often in the States; however, much to my surprise (and happiness) there was a di dao (地道/true to its roots) TianJin eatery in Richmond, BC. I would say this was able to capture the true essence of TianJin DouFuNao. Thus I give it four out of five stars, for being able to authentic.

JianBingGuoZi (煎饼果子)
My all-time favorite. You may see this being sold all over China, particularly in Beijing street vendors, Carrefour, Walmart, supermarkets, etc... But this is TianJin's treat and specialty (and pride!). JianBingGuoZi is a pancake/crepe with egg, crispy flake, scallions, green onions, chili paste, etc... The fried crisp is added on top of the crepe and folded into a burrito-shape. The juxtaposition of the crunchiness and the egg pancake are really matched well. Why else would we love JianBingGuoZi? Definitely four out of five stars.



Overall, I am impressed by the authenticity of TianJin Flavors. Perhaps it was the lack of such tapas that led me to go to TianJin Flavors the very next day... The second time was not quite up to par with the first try. Also, the amount of MSG added for flavoring was slightly over my tolerance, and so I felt quite sluggish after indulging into my hometown favorites. Overall, I recommend! (Visited on 7/24/2010)

Welcome to my Humble Blog!

Hello hello, welcome to I Love LC Style!

Who am I?
I'm just an Asian teenage/adult woman (depending on the situation [8 ) attempting to enter the blogging world. You may refer to me as LC.

My mission?
Not really a mission, more like trying to share with everyone my experiences and to hope I can be of some assistance in the social world.

Why the name?
Well, "I Love Lucy" is quite the catch-phrase, correct? "I Love LC" is my own, and because this is somewhat of a lifestyle blog, I thought LC could take the place for "life," so "LCStyle" it was.

What sort of blog will this be?
I'm envisioning some sort of.. lifestyle/food/travel blog? Maybe an advice column, ranting posts, discoveries, etc... her and there? Be prepared for the worst, hope for the best.
